J.Ice was born in Lagos to Mr and Mrs Akpan. Though not much is known about his upbringing,it is believed that he was an active participant at his local church choir in Sagamu.During 'Ice's childhood,he would listen to tracks from Lil Wayne, KanyeWest and recently Iceprince Zamani.
J.Ice's venture in the Hip Hop world started with the sampling of musical works from Lil Wayne and Jay Z in 2008.Finding his place in an industry dominated by the likes of Modenine,M.I and a whole lot of others,he quickly commenced mix-tapes works which produced joints such as Gidi We Go Hard[remake of Jay Z's 'Brooklyn We Go Hard'],Best Youngster Alive[remake of Lil Wayne's 'Best Rapper Alive'],Show Me Wot U Got and lots more.
Currently trying to promote his latest work 'shuttin' it down',he is a rapper Nigeria should look out for in 2011.
